Euka Wadlington is a client of my son's attorney. Euka saved up his money and bought a bar in Iowa. The DEA started asking his customers if there were drugs in the place. They all said no. Eventually, Euka closed the bar and moved back to Chicago, where he began working for the Department of Streets and Sanitation (i.e., a garbage man). At that time, one of the customers who had previously said Euka's bar was not a drug haven, was arrested on drug charges. The DEA remembered him and offered him a deal if he would set up Euka. So, the man phoned Euka practically every day for a year asking him to buy some drugs. Euka was not interested. Finally, he called Euka and said he was coming to Chicago and would Euka meet him at the airport. Euka came to the airport with one dollar in his pocket which is not enough to buy drugs -- which he had no intention of buying. The DEA swooped down on him, arrested him and charged him with drug conspiracy and possession. Then they coerced six more inmates in various prisons to come to court and testify that Euka had sold them drugs. After the trial, Euka's defense attorney drove to the various prisons and obtained affidavits from the inmates stating that they did not know Euka and that they had been forced and threatened to go to court and lie (one was told that he was "on a fast train to a life sentence" if he didn't testify against Euka). The attorney filed the affidavits in a 2255 appeal, and the 8th Circuit appellate court denied the appeal, even after viewing the affidavits, stating "the defense failed to prove that the government knew of the perjury."
You can read Euka's story and many others just as unbelievable and devasting at the November Coalition site: www.november.org. By the way, for the crime of being lied on Euka was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Jena, LA courts aren't the only place where injustice is the way of life. Dallas, Texas is home of one of America's worst criminal justice systems and this is another great place to build on a nationwide call for justice in American courts. 14 exonerated (and counting). 400 plus prisoners from Dallas arre demanding DNA testing claiming they too have been railroaded to prison and its very likely some of those claiming innocence, actually are. A Fake Drug Scandal that resulted in numerous destroyed lives as innocent Mexicans citizens were convicted and lost their livelihoods based on the knowingly perjured testimony of Dallas cops and their sleazy informants while the judges and D.A.’s turned a blind eye to what was happening. In November 2007 Craig Watkins, the first African-American in Texas history was elected as District Attorney (D.A.)in Dallas, and despite Watkins' many campaign promises his staff continues to waste taxpayers moeny prosecuting cases like that of Lakeith Amir-Sharif. For over three and a half years, while waiting on justice in a Dallas Court, many individuals concerned with seeing that truth and justice prevail, we at Making The Walls Transparent (MTWT) have quietly detailed Sharif’s and other cases on our website. No more silence on the part of myself or MTWT and our supporters. After what you, the D.A.‘s office, police, judges and other public officials in Dallas County, have done ,and are still doing, with this case we can do no less than make as much noise about all of you and the racist and corrupt system you work in as possible. Especially the D.A.‘s office, former court-appointed Attorneys John Read and Douglas Schopmeyer and the unethical judges karen Greene, Phil Barker and Manny Alvarez who’ve all lied, destroyed and/or concealed exculpatory evidence, failed to provide competent and effective representation, and issued courts orders in blatant violation of the state and federal laws, thereby depriving Sharif any chance of him ever receiving a fair trial in these particular cases. What a shameful thing you are doing under the false guise of seeking justice. The world must be made aware of what is occurring in Dallas and espically the Black community here which suffers the greatest impact by these discrimantory, unethical and unlawful actions.
